Annatto is a type of natural dye used when it comes to adding color to food. The natural dye is widely used in cooking, popularly known as coloral, but it is actually pure annatto. Both annatto seeds and leaves have the following properties: diuretic, antibacterial and astringent.
Annatto seed has several uses. One of them is to help invigorate, harmonize and fortify the liver and reduce liver inflammation. Annatto seed is also used to reduce total cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and treat edema.
