Mustard powder contains the same nutrients that are found in the whole mustard seed and has several nutritional benefits. In powder form, mustard has no smell when dry, but has a hot taste when mixed with water.
Mustard seed powder contains the amino acid cysteine, which acts as an antioxidant in the body. Cysteine protects the body from free radicals, which are harmful compounds in your body that damage DNA and cell membranes. Among other benefits it can also be useful in individuals suffering from angina, bronchitis, flu and other conditions.
